To start-off the year's line-up of top blockbuster hits, the powers that be have delivered to our humble movie screens 2 gems, both unique and astounding in their luminescence.
Stranger than fiction is about Harold Crick, his watch and the disembodied voice narrating his life. The suggestive lunacy of the plot has gotten the critics raving. You'd be crazy not to watch it, which should be soon considering it's currently running in Glorietta 4 exclusively.
Pan's Labyrinth trudges, plot in hand, into a land of contrasts. The setting of the Spanish war blankets the movie in a grave atmosphere. Inside this seeming cocoon, a fantastic legend slowly grows, ebbing away the reality and revealing a certain kind of beauty found only in children's fantasy.
This one though just came out in the US. Hopefully, it'll make it in time before all the brouhaha of HP 5 and company.
